LINK Strategic Partners Wins Six Hermes Creative Awards for Crisis Communications, Messaging, and Design Work
DC-based firm has now won 46 Hermes Awards since its first entry in the internationally renowned competition
WASHINGTON (August 17, 2020) — LINK Strategic Partners has received a total of six Hermes Awards for its social impact projects, including COVID-19 crisis response, communicating vital youth sexual health information, and communications support for a youth-led organization combating gun violence. This round of wins increases the number of Hermes Awards won by LINK to 46.
Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition that recognizes outstanding work of creative professionals involved in communications, marketing, graphic design, and more.
LINK won a Platinum Award (Hermes’ highest honor) for its crisis communications support for the city of Brownsville, Texas (BTX). BTX has been working with LINK since March 2020 to distribute urgent and lifesaving communications related to COVID-19. Together, BTX and LINK created public health messaging for BTXCares, developed a Resilience Action Framework, and hosted and facilitated meetings with the Reopen Brownsville Committee.
The Washington, DC-based social impact firm won five other Hermes Awards for the following projects:
LINK was honored for its digital strategy and engagement plan for Upswell 2019, Independent Sector’s refreshed event that brings together a community of changemakers by deconstructing the traditional conference model and creating a space where leaders can collaborate on how to make meaningful and lasting social change.
LINK won an award for a discussion guide LINK did on behalf of The DC Department of Health’s HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, STD, and TB Administration’s (HAHSTA) campaign called Sex is… The innovative discussion guide provides youth and their Trusted Adults with necessary information around how to talk about sex and sexual health openly and honestly.
LINK also received a Gold Hermes Award for its design of the Lost Legacies Magazine, telling the story of Pathways 2 Power, a student-led activist group from Thurgood Marshall Academy. The group aims to start conversations about issues in the DC community that have become normalized, including violence, crime, housing insecurity, mental health, and more.
LINK received an award for its integrated marketing campaign for Project Benji’s Ask Benji, a first of its kind chatbot, powered by artificial intelligence, that is designed to help students and families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as quickly and easily as possible.
LINK won an award for its event photography of DC’s Art All Night, a free all-night celebration of local art, culture, and small business.
“While our mission-driven work is never done for the awards, the honors are a welcome affirmation of these critical efforts with and for our partners, projects, and communities,” said Michael Akin, president of LINK. We are deeply appreciative of the recognition, and incredibly proud of our award-winning team and partners.”
The competition received 6,000 entries from throughout the United States, Canada, and dozens of other countries in this year’s competition. The Hermes Creative Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals (AMCP). The international organization consists of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production, and freelance professionals.
